Talk Title by Rev. Wendy Craig-Purcell: Transitions: 'The Plan Unfolds'
Eckhart Tolle A New Earth Most ancient religions and spiritual traditions share the common insight that our “normal” state of mind is marred by a fundamental defect. However, out of this insight into the nature of the human condition, --we may call it the ‘bad news’, --arises a second insight: the ‘good news’ of the possibility of a radical transformation of human consciousness. In Hindu teachings this transformation is called the enlightenment. In the teachings of Jesus, it is salvation, and it Buddhism, it is the end of suffering. Liberation and awakening are other terms used to describe this transformation.
Joan Gattuso, Unity minister, Toward Living the Abundant Life Since the first recorded history, we have been engaged in slowly ascending the spiral from one stage of realization, becoming familiar and comfortable there, to the next stage, which is awakening us to climb higher. … Now too, we can hear the call if we will but listen and follow the Spirit into experiencing more wholeness and holiness.
Eckhart Tolle A New Earth Awakened doing is the outer aspect of the next stage in the evolution of consciousness on our planet. The closer we get to the end of our present evolutionary stage, the more dysfunctional the ego becomes, in the same way that a caterpillar becomes dysfunctional just before it becomes a butterfly. But the new consciousness is arising even as the old dissolves. We are in the midst of a momentous event in the evolution of human consciousness, … consciousness is awakening from the dream of form.
